In order to meet the requirements for transfer, you must have been deemed competent on another state’s registry for CNAs
- Have documentation of current registration from another state indicating requirements listed in the Code of Federal Regulations (42 CFR, Sections 483.151 and 483.152) have been met.
- Must have no administrative findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property on the home state’s CNA registry or any other state’s CNA registry.
- Must have no disqualifying convictions on home state’s registry.
As of July 1, 2023, a $25.00 fee has been instituted for the reciprocity process. You will have to submit your application by mail along with a money order for $25.00 payable to SIUC or Nurse Aide Testing.

If you send in the application without the payment, it will be rejected. Before sending the application, check the registry for the state or states listed on your application to verify that you are an active CNA. If you are not active, your application cannot be processed.
