Beth Young began working for Nurse Aide Testing at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2018. She believes nursing assistant education is an integral part of bringing competent, skilled, and compassionate nursing assistants into the field of healthcare. Beth works directly with the Illinois Department of Public Health to maintain administrative code compliance through program site visits. She works directly with instructors and program coordinators to provide program feedback and create student-centered learning opportunities which enable students to achieve their nursing assistant certification. She also coordinates, co-hosts, and presents at learning workshops and conferences across the state. Beth is a registered nurse of 20 plus years, has a Master of Science degree in Nursing Education, and is a Certified Nursing Assistant Educator.
