Angela Pavlick joined the Nurse Aide Testing staff in the Office of Workforce Innovation and Research at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2023. Angela began her career in health care as a certified nursing assistant and worked as a nursing assistant while pursuing her nursing degree. Angela believes nursing assistants play a crucial role in ensuring quality patient care and are essential to the healthcare team. Their contributions are inherent to the smooth functioning of hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Angela’s role as part of the Nurse Aide Testing staff at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is to provide support and guidance to program coordinators in nursing assistant programs in the Chicago area. Angela is responsible for conducting clinical site visits under the direction of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), developing and updating training materials, as well as coordinating, co-hosting, and presenting at nurse aide workshops and conferences across Illinois. She is in the process of completing her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in nursing education. She resides in central Illinois with her family.
